How might we make it easier for retail customers to explore and select paint colors online?
The retail paint industry often overwhelms customers with a wide range of paint colors and finishes, making it difficult and time-consuming to make a decision. Behr Express aimed to simplify the paint selection process by creating a streamlined and intuitive user experience for retail customers.
We took a customer-centric approach by combining research, data analysis, and user testing to inform the design and development process.
We implemented the following strategies to improve the paint selection process:
Intuitive Color Exploration
A user-friendly color exploration tool was integrated into both the Behr Express website and mobile app. Users could easily browse through an extensive collection of paint colors and visualize how they would look in different settings. The tool also offered filters based on color families, trends, and room types.
Personalized Recommendations
By leveraging data analytics and machine learning algorithms, the platform provided tailored paint color suggestions. These recommendations were based on customer preferences, past purchases, and trending color choices, making it easier for users to find the perfect paint.
